The Cine-MPower Film Festival has officially wrapped, and what an inspiring journey it has been!
Hosted at the charming Rüstem Kitabevi in the heart of Nicosia, this year’s event brought together filmmakers, creatives, and film lovers from across the island to celebrate cinema as a tool for social empowerment and advocacy.
Organized through the collaboration between Aksiyoncuk and Afri-Art Connect, Cine-MPower set out to highlight the power of film in exploring themes of migration, identity, gender, mental health, and social justice. Through an exciting lineup of short films, discussions, and creative exchanges, the festival became a space for open dialogue, shared emotion, and artistic experimentation.
The screenings showcased an impressive range of independent films and documentaries, each offering a unique perspective and authentic voice. Many of these works were created by emerging filmmakers, proving once again that storytelling has no limits when it comes to passion and creativity.
Beyond the films, the festival hosted talks on topics such as scriptwriting, visual storytelling, and networking in the film industry, sparking ideas and new collaborations among participants. The atmosphere was both insightful and motivational, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of purpose and community.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Afri-Art Connect, all the participating filmmakers, and everyone who joined us to make Cine-MPower such a meaningful experience. Your energy, stories, and support are what drive projects like this forward.

We will continue making films and friends.
